November 2021 Meeting

Thanks to everyone who came to our November meeting - it was our largest in quite a while! The topic of the evening was US two cent pieces, which have a lot of history despite only having been minted for nine years.

The next meeting on December 9th is our end-of-year pizza blowout and wooden nickel auction. A not-at-all threatening call from the local gendarmes reminded us that, due to past... ummm... issues, a noise pollution waiver will be required if we choose to sing "Jingle Coins", "O Little Mint of Bethlehem", "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Dealer", or any of the other traditional favorites accompanied by our nearly-award winning kazoo and cement mixer band. Despite these harsh restrictions, we will still carry on...

As a reminder, the meeting will start at 7 instead of 7:30 to allow ample time for both pizza scarfing and the auction follies. Bring your wooden nickels and an item for the auction in the $5-10 range - more valuable items will be retained by Your Obedient Blogger for safekeeping far, far away. All unused nickels need to be turned in at the end of the auction, so remember to bring in all you have including any that are stabilizing your furniture (or, heaven forbid, your house). Looking forward to seeing everyone there - at 7 - to celebrate the end of 2021 (official motto: "Nowhere near as bad as 2020!").
