We had strong turnout again for our June meeting, and we had an excellent presentation on the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition held in San Francisco. Many numismatic goodies were created for the expo, from official US mint products (including the famous $50 gold pieces) to tokens, medals, and souvenirs issued by companies, states, countries, and the Exposition itself. The presentation included scads of pictures and several of the actual items (although nobody brought in their $50 golds... sigh). Next month our theme will stay in the West as we discuss pioneer gold. Show and tell can be anything (as usual), but try to focus on the pioneer period (say, 1830-1870). Hope to see another big group for our meeting on July 14th!
