Our January meeting was held on the 13th, and featured an excellent presentation on sunken treasure with a focus on shipwrecks around Key West. Of course the gold, silver, and coins were covered, but Tom also discussed some of the details that provided the historical context for WHY so many loaded ships were scooting around that area. Next month, we will hear about John Law and the Mississippi Bubble - a topic that is not purely numismatic but also financial and political. Most of us aren't going to have a lot of on-topic material for show and tell so "anything goes", although items related to economic bubbles and panics might be appropriate.

We also discussed ideas to expand our membership, based on extensive background work done by Stan. I'm sure we will further explore these at the next meeting, so please take some time to review the handouts he prepared. See you there on the 10th at 7:30!
