We had our January meeting on the 11th at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. Tom gave an excellent presentation on a series of wildlife conservation coins issued in the 70's, several of which were issued by countries that raised the interesting question "Which is the more endangered species - the animal on the reverse or the President-of-the-week on the obverse?" In February we will be meeting on the 8th at 7:30 at the MMC, and our topic will be the older "classic" series of US commemorative coins that were produced up to 1954, until overproduction and uninspired designs (gee, that doesn't sound familiar...) made everybody swear off the idea until 1982. Show and tell will be any numismatic commemorative (hey, most of Your Obedient Blogger's collection commemorates me blowing a bunch of money... wonder if that will count?).
